A Question about wires and midi cables

Recommended Posts

Should be fine mate don't worry about it.

I know problems can occur with when wrapping audio cables in a similar way but with MIDI things like that don't matter.

the low-voltage wiring (signal cables - audio, midi) shouldn't induce any interference/crosstalk into each other, while high-voltage alternating current (power wiring connected to the wall power outlets) tend to induce unwanted currents - buzz, noise... that's why you should keep them physically apart, or at least have them run perpendicular to the audio wiring, instead of parallel.

and there is no fire hazard :)

i think hanratty actually meant, "will bundling the cables potentially break them?"

yeah, that's what i meant. but i did think about a fire hazard too (although it seems less likely)

thanks for the advice!

edit: but i will switch from masking tape to twisty ties. :shade:

what's bad for wires is to yank them out by the cord. and i do that far too often.

same did that yesterday :(

use zip ties.... or even these guys:

That way everything is easy to unravel and re-ravel.
