Guest Wall Bird
I'm using Logic and I've got 8 channels of audio to mix to video. My phase correlation meter is showing that the individual tracks are moderately out of phase with each other. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way in Logic to slightly tweak the phase of individual audio files until they lock in. I've been looking for a bit and cant figure it out. In the event that there is no easy way to do so in Logic does anyone know of a simple plug-in I can use to manipulate phase? acid1
The most obvious thing you can do is force it to mono. Guest Asterix
individual tracks will always be out of phase with each other. It only matters in extreme cases were you have a stereo bass and you want to cut a loud record, the needle will jump. The cutting engineer will fix this for you. ignore the meters! kokoon
that's not completely true though: you can have real bad luck with phase cancellation eg. between bassdrum and bassline... i think i heard once this can be corrected in the mastering process, but i gotta admit i really can't imagine how you'd do it after mixdown. so, wall bird, what exactly do you mean by the tracks being out of phase? if it's really something like that, then you could try fixing it by delaying a track, but i don't know what the smallest step for track delay is in logic, might be too much... kokoon
well that should solve any phase problems then Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/38864-phase-issues/#findComment-850519 Share on other sites
Guest A/D
when it sounds like dirt, invert! heh heh. pretty clever, right. inverting the phase on a track is really just a good way to check if the problems you're hearing are phase-related. sometimes it may even solve them.
