This track is one of the all-time autechre greats, it's so beautifully and pristinely done, every microsecond is perfect, I almost cry.

Autechre Rule - Queen are Shite

I agree. Hearing the ending was one of the special moments in my half-life

This is one of Autechre's best tracks by far. I love its dynamics - electronic music rarely uses silence or even quietness, so this is an example to study. And that metallic, string-like sound is brilliant, do you have any ideas about what it might be?

The melody that starts at 00:32 is probably one of my all time favorites from them. It's so I don't even know. It's so fucking cool, dark and mysterious. It's a d minor or d dominant seven though (the key). Forget which.

All the sounds fit together too and I especially like that dog barking sound.

I just found this. Think I wrote it re VL AL/P.:NTIL but whatever

Static-swathed synth washes crumbling geometrically & spastically into clouded jell-o ice seas simultaneously slug-ooze-viscous & winterish-brittle. Arrhythmic percussion clinging desperately to an implied temporal wireframe, stamping mad as some odd number of worn out, autistic sneakers, laces slapping wild, aglets skittering absurd phantom tic-a-tacs in the wake of the kicks' squelched thuds.

Swirling an intricate fork with a surplus of prongs into a Petri dish of gently quivering spaghetti noodles, faceted gelatinous chunks, wetly-glinting in muted tones, peppered throughout with tiny, fuzzy mold spores in brilliant whites & neons, a mottling of madmanic motes.

[serve with ice water (with ice) to aid in digescomtion.]

You got it! This album (and especially this track) sound more like some functionally useless writhing biology than anything else I've heard from them.

Surripere always stands out like a sore thumb for me, In a good way though. It sits there in the middle of the album, this huge monolith presenting itself as if it's ominously recalling that dark feel present throughout Confield.
