remix in progress

doing a remix of

this track, "whoa!" by grum. some electro, 80s shit. haven't really listened to the original too much. tried to do something a little different.

been working on it for a few days. not sure if it's done yet, i'm gonna sit on it for awhile and see if anything jumps out at me. does it sound done? need something more? something less?

compress the shit out everything, for some reason it isnt hitting hard enough, but im not really all the way through it yet

yea, i haven't done anything to fine tune the mix fully or master it yet, so it's still a little muddy. what exactly isn't hitting on your end? my speakers suck atm, so i've only been working on headphones. hard to tell dynamics from them sometimes.

yea im playing it on laptop speakers, and to be honest it sounds fine, but ive been playing the new mr oizo alot and some justice, and its kind of in the same vein so i guess im expecting to sound more raw or something? i dunno

pretty darn good remix. certainly lacks a little punch but other than that its a hit

gets repettive at about 1:00 and remains so. i would've enjoyed a change of chords @ 1:30, change of sounds, dunno. the rhythm is good. nice leads before 3:00

 

love its energy but it's way too repetitive for me.
