Synesthesia (also spelled synæsthesia or synaesthesia, plural synesthesiae or synaesthesiae)—from the Ancient Greek σύν (syn), meaning "with," and αἴσθησις (aisthēsis), meaning "sensation" — is a neurologically-based phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.[1][2][3] In one common form of synesthesia, known as grapheme → color synesthesia or color-graphemic synesthesia, letters or numbers are perceived as inherently colored,[4][5] while in ordinal linguistic personification, numbers, days of the week and months of the year evoke personalities.[6][7] In spatial-sequence, or number form synesthesia, numbers, months of the year, and/or days of the week elicit precise locations in space (for example, 1980 may be "farther away" than 1990), or may have a (three-dimensional) view of a year as a map (clockwise or counterclockwise).[8][9][10] Yet another recently identified type, visual motion → sound synesthesia, involves hearing sounds in response to visual motion and flicker.[11]

I find quaristice to be mostly black and grey, with a little green. I don't think Autechre have ever done anything pink.

grey seems to be present in a lot in all of their albums

And white. There is a fuckload of white on LP5 and Chiastic Slide.

Confield was probably the most colourful and organic-feeling. I can't believe so many people had trouble getting into it.

albums kinda pink

no I actually hear what you are saying, the album has a kind of rubbery mastering that is different from their other material. kind of a glaze over all of it. It evokes a certain vibration in my lower jaw, stimulating nerves that I would associate with chewing.

Amen. Things went downhill fast.

On the other hand though, we're here, we can rebuild it. You and me, what do you say?

Rebuild?

The only way this forum can be salvaged is if Ae announces new material.

We have the technology...

I always pictured Quaristice as grey, with muted orange and that greenish color they paint linoleum with in public buildings.

for me quaristice generally invokes large crystaline polygons ranging from clear to smoky. no colors, though...

EDIT: what? we're not talking about that anymore? my bad

yes; i felt some red especially on Cfern (the most incredulous track ive concluded to my experience); it is rounder; full of rushing wind at times of course on PEN EXPERS. it was definitely an organic album
