Guest hahathhat
a couple times now, i've been watching a movie, listening to the radio, and i've heard a sample he used in one of his tracks. except, it takes a moment to register -- my brain says, I'VE HEARD THIS BEFORE -- but it takes me a minute or two to figure out from where, and that minute feels pretty weird. i see other people posting threads with similar experiences. how about it, eh? Guest blutac
On "a soft quietude", released in 1997. I swear there's a repetetive sample: "ooo let's vote for Obama" Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/39703-how-viberts-sampling-provides-regular-brainfarts/#findComment-871839 Share on other sites
Goiter Sanchez
Happened when I watched 'The Man who Fell to Earth' a few years ago; the 'let's fuck' sample was used in 'UBFormby' (as well as a Caustic Window track). Guest Betty
If this was a scholarly forum we would compile a list of all the various samples used in all of Luke Vibert's songs complete with information on the original source, musicological annotations and footnotes with hyper-links to further information. Actually... this was supposed to be a facetious post but now I'm starting to think it might actually be a good thing to do. Anyone agree? Musicological annotations could be interesting if done with good humor and creative flair. MadnessR
I was watching The Prisoner, the spy show from the late 60's, when I heard the makings of "Bend Over", for the Wagon Christ album "Musipal". It was so wierd. I heard a Plug sample at a wedding "Cut('97 Remix)"....it was from a song called "love won't let me wait". Which I had heard alot growing up but never knew it was what he sampled. So, yeah....I'm not alone...
