I actually discovered Fennesz just this morning and am excited to hear his other work. So far I've only heard "Perfume for Winter."

essential cds are:

Endless Summer

Venice

Cendre (collab with Ryuichi Sakamoto)

and his new Black Sea cd of course

and if you like Fennesz, i would also recomend Tim Hecker (Harmonies In Ultraviolet)

Harmony In Ultraviolet, juss sayin'. BTW You mentioned all Fennesz's albums, except for Hotel Paral.lel

Hotel Paral.lel is quite a bit different though, far more glitchy and less guitar shenanigans. Although it's far easier to get into than Plus Forty Seven Degrees 56' 37 Minus Sixteen Degrees 51'08 which I'm not really a fan of. Everything from Endless Summer onwards I love though.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

yeah, its a special vinyl series. dunno how long is the side, but it might be expensive for a one track only (& i need a new stylus !).

i've watched the interview for redd bull & i cannot believe the first cd with sakamoto was actually a live improvisation !

I have this... has a dragon scratched in on the other side. Song is good but not amazing. Really worth it mainly just for the amazing print.

it depends on your opinion. plus forty seven has some moments of utter brilliance and if you can manage to open up to some of the harsher passages and get familiar it's a pretty bad ass album. to me it's a little like listening to Oval's Ovalcommerce...which is noisy as fuck, but an incredible album of how to make a noisy cacophonous album into something of beauty. i honestly prefer his direction these days to his harsher mego days (although i will always have a soft spot for tunes like 'tor' etc). he's come into a nice balance of achieving sonic beauty through numerous means and his compositions are amazing now. black sea has been steadily kicking my ass for awhile now. haven't heard this new one, but thanks for the heads up.
