Guest Idrn
I have a synth open - whilst playing or clicking to draw a midi note, sound is produced, when i play through my midi notes, nothing is heard? This seems to be an isolated incident too? At the moment I assign parameters to a knob and then twiddle it a bit whilst recording , then edit whats produced in the piano roll. Is there a more efficient way to do this? Can I detach the mixer/piano roll window? And can I have multiple piano rolls open? Also, what are good logic learning resources (which arnt either a 2kg book or series of slow-paced youtube videos by some trance producer)? Many thanks Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/41452-a-few-logic-questions/ Share on other sites

Many thanks 1st question - Is this when you are playing midi notes via a controller, the on-screen keyboard, or just straight in the piano roll? 2nd question - You can edit your automation per track in the arrange window if you click the automation button or press "a". You can also display several automation tracks so you can view many different controll params at once. 3rd question - You can detach all windows and have several piano rolls open at once. 4th question - http://logicprohelp.com/ http://www.logicuser.de/forumnet/ There are tons of sites for logic though... the ones i used to frequent most often, i've forgotten the site names... it's been years =/ Hope that helps some Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/41452-a-few-logic-questions/#findComment-916790 Share on other sites
Guest Idrn
1st question - Is this when you are playing midi notes via a controller, the on-screen keyboard, or just straight in the piano roll? via a controller and the piano roll - put it this way, notes are played in every case except for when the playhead rolls past a midi note. 2nd question - You can edit your automation per track in the arrange window if you click the automation button or press "a". You can also display several automation tracks so you can view many different controll params at once. this is on the main window though, can i also do this in a similar fashion within the piano roll? aside from panning/volume etc the list of parameters is just hundreds of nondescript cc numbers too. is there not a way i can click a knob/parameter to produce the automation track? (hence im currently using my midi-learn-twiddle method). 3rd question - You can detach all windows and have several piano rolls open at once. cool, ill google this :) 4th question - http://logicprohelp.com/ http://www.logicuser.de/forumnet/ There are tons of sites for logic though... the ones i used to frequent most often, i've forgotten the site names... it's been years =/ Hope that helps some thanks! im a little impatient with logic as have little time to make music recently and dont have time to sit down solely to adjust to it. its a great program so far though. hyper editor is sweet.
