I surrender...

Recommended Posts

For awhile, I would kind of question the judgement of people who highly praised drukqs as Richard's best work... but now I understand... especially after listening to sooo much Rushup Edge. I find Drukqs to be a lot more understandable and simply sonic bliss. The types of sounds and everything about the production is just absurd. So much thought went into this album, and its just fantastic to finally appreciate that.

Well done!

Before i was a big fan of afx i bought druqks with do u know squarepusher. I didnt release how good it was a first. At the time squarepushers fast drilling beats were the first i had come across so i was convinced afx was trying to sound like that. I hadnt heard anything of come to daddy. But as time went on i heard more afx, more music in the genre and finally realised how immense it was.

But then again everybody in that period, around the end of 2001, was on top of his game (Drukqs, Confield, Go Plastic). Singularity was achieved in this field of music and the movement has been riding on this since those albums. I mean what more could you do? You could always redo the same thing, but that's not fun. I don't want a second Drukqs.

I'd like a second one, but not a third. There isn't anything that sounds like it to me, and I feel it could be explored a little more; but I wouldn't want a whole wave of imitations, as that would get old quickly.

But then again, any new thing by Richard will eventually get compared to Drukqs (not the RDJ Album). The same way that any new AE gets compared to Confield (not Tri Repetae). They can't do another one like it.

Drukqs sounds like it was made in a laptop

quite indeed. nothing wrong with that though

he probably felt guilty about that fact since he's used great instruments in the past.. perhaps that's why he did analord
