What's do you expect from their next album? Do you think it will have another modern style, just like Campfire Headphase? When do you think it will release??? This year, in 4 years, who knows??? What will be its name??? The last thing we could expect would be if the album will be a good one.

What I think is it'll keep a modern style, because Boards of Canada would have to evolve their style. It'll release in end of 2007, 2008 or 2009. I expect it'll have a philosophical name, or something like that. And, of course, it'll kick-ass, like all their albums!!!

when they said "nobody will be expecting what they're gonna come out with next", i suppose i have no idea but I have a gut feeling it will be louder, more beat drivin or somethin

and didn't they say it would be released sooner than lateR?

But they said that after Geogaddi and (I think) after In A Beautiful Place.

I'd prefer it if their direction was slightly more in the pre-TCH direction. Not that I disliked the album of course, but it just didn't seem to me as deeply emotional as say Geogaddi or MHTRTC.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Can sombody tell me more info on this anticon remix of dayvan cowboy?

it's an odd nosdam remix, not an anticon remix

Yeah, yeah, I couldn't be arsed looking up which member when I posted

From the Anticon newsletter.

"Hello from David (odd nosdam)

.....

Been getting into the remix game this year. Just finished a 9+ minute

redo of Boards of Canada's 'Dayvan Cowboy'. This should be released

sometime in early 2006 on a single via warp."

oh okay, sorry, i thought you might have just been misinformed. but yeah i can't look forward to that remix ... odd nosdam is one of my favorite producers, and 'dayvan cowboy' is my third or fourth favorite BoC track

Yeah i hope the music returns to the geogaddi sound. Strange samples, sweeping melancholy. Although people assure me ity is there, I just cant find that in TCH. It just seems like one long boring dirge (im being harsh some track like chromakey are great)

i'm still getting my head around campfire headphase. they fucked up the tracklisting on that one, that's all i can really say about it.

i hope the next album is in the vein of the in a beautiful place EP mixed with really loud shoegaze music. kid for today meets soon off loveless if that's even possible. dancey atmospheric music is something i'd love to see from them...more tracks along the lines of "the beach at redpoint" as well, that song just moves. i'd actually like to see sung vocals on an album as well...i just really want them to take off and go somewhere with their music, and keep the album short, rdj album length...yeah, i want them to make their rdj album, poppy, pastoral music.

a couple of songs that are crap and a some that are either good or amazing, the usual bascially

Boards of Canada's albums has no crap. If you mean the short interlude songs, yes it could be crap. I think BoC should make more songs, but not 6 min long. 20 tracks 4 minutes long.

Nice thoughts. I think the tracklisting is quite good, until the very end of the album where it goes haywire. If they had swapped McQuarie ridge for Farewell Fire I think it would have been so much better. Farewell Fire is a dud, and McQuarie ridge is just a good send off tune, especially since the icy atmosphere is totally contrary to what you'd expect from a "campfire", it would create and intriguing disconnect. Even though I don't think McQuarie Ridge "goes anywhere", as frankly is the case with most BoC songs these days - it has a unique atmosphere, it almost reminds me of some demented Disneyland ride, like "It's a Small World", but set in an Antarctic wonderland where the ice formations are all made out of sugar. It's weird, and cool.

I think BoC are probably past their peak, but still capable of making interesting music. Even if their musical "ideas" are growing a bit predictable, their production just gets better and better, and this in and of itself makes their albums worth listening to over and over again.

I hope they bring back the beats. As Campfire proved to me, BoC are just a little limp without their beat magic. I'm totally with you in regards to IABPOITC. I think it's my favorite work by them, so anything they can take from that would be a good thing in my book.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.
