beater cars

greetings...

since my great accident i have been driving around a rental. well needless to say its time to get my own car. im thinking of just getting a beater. maybe a mid to late nineties toyota or honda. i am only going to be here until august then i am moving to the big apple to go to culinary school to become a great chjef. if u have any advice on beater cars.. how to drive.. how to look for a good beater car.. what a good car is .. etc. plz help me. i hate buying cars.

i have ~$4600 to spend but i dont want to spend more than $3300 on the car itself cus i wanna take it to my mechanic and get it fully checked out etc. plus tax + registration etc

get a 1977 Ford Puto

Old Volkswagens hold up pretty well.

Honda Civic... my '93 Civic had 245k miles on it when I finally SOLD it... yes, sold it to a teenager who needed a car bad.

Damn for the first time a car question has me fucking stumped, guess I know fuck all about buying cars in America, but amen to the Honda Civic suggestion, cracking cars.

A 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante is a good beater car to get.

yeah so far my top choices are a 1996+ civic or accord but what else is there that is comparable

95/96 Nissan Altima is a good car, too.

Honda is a good choice. I had an Accord years back.

Audi A3? Ford Mondeo? Toyota Corolla? Vauxhall Omega? Honda Prelude? Saab 9-3, 9-5? VW Golf? Nissan Primera?

honda or toyota don't listen to the people saying VW.
