If "on(28mix)" is supposedly 28th track from SAWII

Recommended Posts

I am sure this has been discussed somewhere exhaustively

I didn't find it directly on search and admittedly didn't look TOO hard

but It has been speculated that on(28 mix) is called that because it is actually the 28th

track from the SAWII sessions

I am wondering what would then be considered 26 & 27 (and if so 29 & 30...?)

anyone?

I would posit that:

cdonly #1 (track 11 from AB3 cd)

analogue bubblebath 3 (from the trance europe express comp)

quino-phec (polygon widow)

seemingly sound of the same style...

aphex airlines?

phlid?

perc #6?

anyone know if RDJ has spoken directly to this?

sorry if this has already been beaten to death

The 28mix of On was originally a track from the tracks that eventually became SAWII. Why it's called the '28mix' may have to do with in what sequence it was composed in relation to the others.

any skinny on 26 & 27 joyrex?

or is this more of the RDJ ploy to make you want what you can't have (qchastic/ab5/melodies/countless demo tapes and limited pressings thrown to mates that you'll never hear etc)

yeah, i think so too.

I know that they are, now, but they were kept under minimal release, leaked, never officially released, given

out special for analord delivery fuckups etc... still pretty impossible to get "legit", even if more readily on the slsk then they were at one time...

but I think you can agree that part of RDJs appeal beyond his talent and being ridiculously prolific, is his marketing savvy

and part of the appeal of the a lot of his music, beyond the quality, is its perceived or actual rarity and collectability

keep it "secret"

give out only 5 copies to friends

do a test press but never put it out legit

release tracks under countless aliases

embed codes in the music

discuss the copious amounts of tracks & releases you have made then decided to never release in the press

etc

etc

and hence making me want to track down #26 and #27, because, logically,

if RDJ says that the 28 mix is called that because it was the 28th track from the SAWII

"sessions" but there are only 25 on the actual release, then 26 and 27 must be "out there somewhere"...
