tunes out of your ipod

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a website/software to get your itunes from your ipod onto your laptop?!! Anyone that could do this would be nothing less than a hero!

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

80/120 gigs run on a harddrive. Open up the iPod folder under My Computer, enable viewing of hidden folders, and open the folder that contains your music.

CopyPod

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

Yes, but you can only get a trial version for free. Then you have to pay for it.

yamipod is annoying. all i have is a shitty ipod control folder that labels every song as a four letter title and makes my life hell. if i could fix this i promise a blow job to whomever makes me realise that there is a better way,

but if you don't use a program the file names remain tagged in the shitty itunes format and are impossible to categorize when you've got 80gb to sort through. massive fucking pain in my ass. i had to do it when my room mates broke my laptop. i'm still upset about it. it has been like 4 or 5 years since i did it but back then yamipod was being a massive cunthole. perhaps it works now.

i've had my ipod since 05 i think. i would never have bought it though, my parents got it for free through a grocery store point rewards program and i got it for my birthday because some piece of shit stole my superwicked iriver was stolen when a realtor was showing our house. fuck those people.

You can just yuse mp3tag to tag > rename, then another application to batch sort them. Probably have to rename the folders yourself though.

It's still pretty cheap and it works well, saved my collection when my hard drive crashed last winter

Foobar2k

+

foo_dop

+

the built in File Operations stuff

Plug in iPod.

File -> iPod -> Load Library. Select whatever you want to copy, right click, File Operations, "Copy to..."

Use some auto-rename/reorganise tag thing such as

  Reveal hidden contents

That will rename the file based on the id3 data.

Voila!

I can't actually say that this works 100% as I don't have my ipod cord with me but i don't see why it WOULDn'T. You probably don't even need foo_dop, you could just navigate to the ipod's hidden music folder in explorer and drag n drop into an empty f2k playlist.
