is there a standalone virtual analogue style sequencer

in the thread about Grooveboxes I expressed my desire for a nice hardware analogue sequencer, but was finding it hard to get one due to rarity and price. is there a program that will basically turn my computer into one? like, just a standalone bit of software that looks like an analogue sequencer (with knobs or sliders for note and gate input) that will sync to MIDI clock and transmit it's sequences over MIDI to my hardware synths?

if there isn't someone should make one coz I reckon it's be well popular.

i'm pretty sure that there is a reaktor or max/msp, synthedit, etc.. patch that will let you do this. Nord modular has a couple sequencer modules that you can use to control other synths etc...
