so i was waiting on a ebay auction for a phonic firefly 320+ (RRP £120), which i'd had my eye on for a week in order to ninja at the end. with 30 minutes to go it was at £19.50. i then got distracted by shiny things and it sold to some lucky bastard for £31.

i then searched gumtree and miraculously found an m-audio ozonic (firewire audio interface and midi controller in one - RRP £300) for £130, and all of a 20 minute bike ride away from my house. the ad was only a day old. i rang the number eagerly thinking all was not lost. "sorry, i literally just sold it a few hours ago, ive had calls all day, bad luck".

this really will not do, it pains me much. has anyone else experienced similar? i think if i saw someone walking from a carboot sale with a polyvoks underarm id drop to the floor and convulse in a steadily growing puddle of my bodily fluids.

I once found a Moog MG-1 at a swap meet (car boot sale) and got it for $16 USD.

I'm only telling you this because it wasn't a Polyvoks.

That's the story of my life, minus the part about buying music gear.

I've had loads of ebay moments where either i was outbid by a couple dollars or took too long to make a decision on a purchase. Most recently, I saw a roland jx-3p with a case and a fx unit that had a 300 usd buy it now price tag. I took too long to decide whether I want a jx-3p and when I eventually came to the conclusion that I wanted one, it was gone...

Guest Glass Plate

I ordered a kit to midi-mod my Boss DR-110 drum machine, and I thought it was just taking a while, and a couple months later I found out it shipped to my house in 2 days.

I asked all of my neighbors they all claim to know nothing about it, highly liquid can't do anything about it, and it's been too long for USPS do anything about it. I don't know WHO the fuck that lives near me would need that kit, so it's probably going to go to waste. I can't really afford to just go out and buy another kit instantly either, so that really pissed me off.

i've been using vista for about 4 months now, and i still haven't come across a program that doesn't work on it. there are minor annoyances, i agree (like the default view setting in an 'open' dialog) but there are a lot of nice features.

Someone outbid me on an Edirol UA20 in the last 5 seconds, but I sort of wanted this to happen, as I wasn't sure I was making the right choice. But now I found out 60 euros or something for such an item is really a decent price. FML.

spot freshly posted gumtree ad for tb-303 with extra resonance and distortion mods, about an hour from my house and going for £500(!). i promptly email him, ready to borrow/steal from old grannies to pay for it, and the fella says "oops, i've just moved to Dublin, but we can do it via Buysafe, it's totally legit blablabla". i reply "oh, that's not a problem, my mate lives in Dublin, he can come pick it up whenever, when are you free?"... he replies with more "blabla you'll have to pay through Buysafe first, it's totally legit blablabla", so obviously; a scam. i was so fucking excited too!

Yeah but that's not really so bad. I haven't noticed any increase in boot time or performance issues, plus it means development of the gui etc. (and development in general) is much easier for ol' Oskari ....
