Guest ward
oh my god. I want all the monkey islands, the indy: fate of atlantis and day of the tentacle. but this has made me realise there were follow ups to the day of the tentacle and the indy game..... WHAT?! how did i not know this? I guess i was just a wee nipper when i was playing these but still... you'd think my older sister or dad could have found out. You don't realise how much fun i had playing fate of atlantis. I'd sit down with my dad and sister and we'd go through it. Day of the tenticle i used to have fun watching the same cut scenes over and over.. (i was so young). There used to be something so magical about playing these games.... the first monkey island... walking from the cliffs to town and going into that shop that sells bats and skulls etc. or potions.. i can't remember i was soooo young. So magical. Why can't games do the same these days?! Damn, everything was better as a kid. (edit: not everything) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/42343-lucasarts-adventure-games-posters/#findComment-942670 Share on other sites
Squee
There weren't any sequels to The Day of the Tentacle. DOTT was actually a sequel to Maniac Mansion. Guest awkwardsilence
Awesome. Seeing the Monkey Island intro for the first time, pink letters over a mysterious island and that incredible main theme, is one of my all time favourite videogame moments. ward said: but this has made me realise there were follow ups to the day of the tentacle and the indy game..... WHAT?! how did i not know this? Meh, those other Indy games are not follow ups to "The Last Crusade" or "Fate of Atlantis" in any way though. More 3d-action based, not following the old school adventure style. They were fine in their day, sure, but nothing you'd care to play through now, really. "Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine" was more of a Tomb Raider-wannabe, collect the cogs and climb around and swing over the context sensitive action points with your whip, or whatever. "Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb" is bigger on action, almost like a beat-em-up style brawler adventure. It was fun.
