Recommended Posts

but what should i buy? are electronic drumkits in the 600-700 pound range worth buying, or do you need to spend more than that to get one that will last me indefinetely?

ps: i feel like a british loser at this time of the watmm day. all alone on this side of the atlantic

im not assured but ive got 2 hours to kill and i mayaswell entertain myself thinking about having a thousand pounds to waste.

its just a general music competition, single piece.

and i am pretty sure anyway. the piece i am playing is sick as fuck, and provided i dont mess it up it will actually just pound the shit out of everyone.

cheap electronic drum kits are terrible. trust me, i bought one for $900AU and while the actual controller is great, the pads are tacky and make your hands sore - i haven't touched it in about 6 months or something. so unless you're willing to shell out for a nice roland kit with at least a mesh snare, then it's not worth it. just get a real one, it'll be much more satisfying (unless you're worried about the noise, which is fair enough).

im more interested in the electronic drumkits ability to go straight into my pc actually. i could probably get away with the noise of an acoustic kit in the day, but i like to do most of my musicianing at night so it wouldnt be that cool.

i was worried that the midrange eleccy kits would be kinda shit though. maybe il have to save up for a bit.

i think the proper roland kits start at about 1200 ish?

I play better in the evening, but the competition is at 9am and im on second, so i woke up at like 3 in the morning to start practicing and pretend its evening. nerves makes me chat shit aswell so i need to contain it to this thread.

yeah man its in a concert hall up the road from me. most of the competitions i enter are purely for pianists, and all you win is trophies, but this one any instrumentalist/singer who exceeds grade 7 can enter, should be interesting.
