and have been dying to find a way to integrate it into my workflow without making it so complicated and problem ridden that it kills the fun of making music.

Basically what it is is a modular sequencer that can send be arranged in millions of ways. It's really easy to create interesting patterns with minimal complexity on the side of programming. It can generate cc# midi notes, midi gate, and even nrpn#!!!! I figured I'd have to write some shit in PD or Max to be able to control the ea-1 since it used nrpn.

is it modular in a way that you could take the audio signal of a eq filtered saw wave and connect it to the delay time knob ??

yes. modular in the sense that you can connect anything to anything. I haven't done so much audio stuff w/ it. Mostly midi.

example. create note sequence. add additional note sequencer that steps by whole notes. The midi pitches are added together, so you basically have a note sequence that follows a chord progression.

If you have hardware it's super cool since you can also create sequencers that control parameters and trigger them separately from the note sequence. Example: 16 step note pattern, 6 step filter cutoff pattern, 8 step resonance pattern. You get the idea.
