if experience counts for anything, I'd say to avoid IDM at all costs, unless it's something funny like dmx krew. put some indie rock and make the cover look nice and cute and that's all you need. i used to obsess over every detail of a mix and it's all pretty meaningless to girls (even if she likes you).

a good gimmik album would definately be the Load Error EP...after taht it gets sorta samey with a few highs thrown in occasionally (Ausland and Im Sommer are great tracks off his second toytronic ep)
