has anyone ever made a mixture of ska and drum'n'bass?

if not, i might have to have a go at writing some.

what sort of ska are we talking? I don't really know where the lines are with reggae and rocksteady and ska but I'm sure the golden days of ragga jungle tapped this resource

Hey I've just recently been doing this, not SKA specifically but heavily considering just chucking a whole bunch of different influences into a track (what I'm doing at the moment). I was thinking something like raggae or anything else random I find.

I think it's a subject that's been totally unexplored.

mixing raggae with drum and bass sounds like a novel and original idea! i daresay; go for it!

i mean, the fast ska like the specials, madness etc. i just thought that the fast offbeat chord stabs would be great mixed with dnb drums!

I don't even want to find out.

ove naxx...did somthing like this and its alright, check out his Accelmuzhik ep, or the track ragga dub tackle

I wouldn't count Ove-Naxx as an actual fusion.

I'm pretty sure Drum N Bass was combined with pretty much everything during its "heyday"

on numerous occasions

and it's AWESOME

basically, jungle with an offbeat and brass samples.

Mr Scruff has been mixing ska and d&b in his mammoth eight hour sets for donkey's years, so, for Manchester at least, this is well old hat.

no, i'm talking about the kind of fast ska like i mentioned earlier, the specials, madness, and countless other bands. i know about ragga and dubstep but they're totally the opposite of what i want to do.

hehe and no, i don't own any brass instruments!

well, i wanted to hear some just incase it didn't work, rather than putting the effort into trying it myself to have it fail, hahah.

edit: i got the idea from a drum'n'bass song by orange dust that sounds like house of fun.
