recently i've seen this bbc show about some sort of psychological test

10 people had to do some tests for two days, but 5 of them had a psychiatric history, and the other 5 were "normal"

and a team of 3 psychologists had to figure out wich 5 ones were "crazee" (they only figured 2 out)

and this show used a few ambient aphex tracks here and there

but also some tracks from squarepusher an µ-ziq

and max richter and johann johannsson

i'm pretty sure the soundguy posts here (or any other geeky idm forum)

All mental health related exams like the MMPI have a scale built into them to register when someone's taking the piss or lying. Since there is more than 500 questions, it's incredibly hard to fake. I'm sure he'd have a wind up and you could tell after scale analysis.

 

If he were taking some Jung based tests seriously, he would come out more introverted. He would score high on conscientiousness; don't believe that "I Care Because You Do" shit, believe me he cares so much about the quality of his music that it's nearly a downfall because he doesn't release until he's satisfied.

 

The IQ would be interesting. However, probably not as amazing as you would think. Research shows that formal education and especially college education has a sizeable influence on how people perform on these tests. He hasn't done anything beyond the stock UK education besides some technical school in electronics as far as I know. That might artificially depress his score. But, obviously, IQ is not a good measure of creativity and it's just pure controversy anywhere else. Just how well you can arrange some blocks, complete some sentences, and do some maths.

lol, easy partner! When I said "stock UK education", I meant the same public education available to all English students. Jesus mate, I'm a public education graduate myself; I've got no beef in fact I heartily support public education as I am getting my Masters in curriculum development to teach biology at the secondary level (!). I was trying to exclude so-called private "magnet schools" that slave drive kids into becoming math and science wizards or grooms them above and beyond the publicly educated kid--thus enhancing their IQ.

 

You've got me sussed all wrong--don't peg the "US" thing on me; I'm probably one of the most internationally minded Americans on this board (why would I be here otherwise?). Now that you've turned it into a pissing contest, I concede in a heartbeat that the UK education supercedes the US system by miles....or kilometers, if you will. And I'm saying that even after you've briefly demonstrated yourself as a scousy common cheerleader for ol' Blighty to me.
