Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
i just got one of these cheapish and so far its fun but not particularly useful for me. the ribbon finger arp is fun but generates the same type of sound and that is getting boring (i see now why people say this is good for hiphop). i didnt buy it wanting to use it as a drum sequencer but that seems the most obvious use for it now. i knew going from pc only to hardware was going to be limiting but only have 3 effects per pattern is harsh. ideally i suppose i want something else to record out to and then playback whilst working on another 'layer'. something like an old 8 track or what? editing sounds on the electribe (truncate lol yeah right) is insane so i'm doing all that on the pc still and then loading it up. and why can't you add effects to the audio through? and why are the effects mostly shit? i'm looking at buying a midi cable and hooking my midi controller up to it. is it worth doing? then i'm wanting a mpc500 (or 1000) solely for beats and keeping this thing for sounds. then i need suggestions on a synth. Guest spraaaa
based on an es-x (the older ones which used shiny silver instead of tubes to attract buyers), try working with sequencing software or like you say an mpc, this way you can automate more parameters than the motion seq allows you to and get more range out of the limitations. I guess with your controller you could also play more of these params too. the sx is the sampler right? on the older es-x you can resample the audio with effects on it, just have to turn on the effect in sample mode. really have no idea how the new one works and I can't tell from korg's pictures, man how do you look at this thing, it's so red. also do you know holding shift is like a coarse/fine adjust for changing the truncate start/end points? congratulations on posting hellas about animal collective and not buying a roland sampler. :wink2: Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/42715-electribe-sx-1/#findComment-954259 Share on other sites

As in one setting for x number of notes at a time, or do u mean only one timbre and not multi-timbral? Guest e440hz
haha it has two monophonic "keyboard" parts.. get yourself a sick collection of high quality samples and let the esx truely shine! elektron.de has monomachine and machinedrum samples that are perfect! also google Esx organizer and you should find an invaluable sample organizer for windows Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/42715-electribe-sx-1/#findComment-1015792 Share on other sites
