I want to go on a DnB adventure

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for some really good dnb shit that isn't necessarily dark but has some sort of emotional content to it. No loungey sunday afternoon shit, but nothing ultraviolent like The Messiah either.

Actually this one; http://soundcloud.com/derelic7/csm-freedom-fries

is sort of what I want more of.

ADDITIONAL NOTE; the akira ost has some of the most fantastic woodblock ever. fyeeeeaa

I hadnt heard the new Mistabishi but Printer Jam is pretty wicked, its quite inventive for hospital and alot of upfront dnb.

Mostly why i like hospital is because there is alot of soulful, blue tone vibes in there. Things like high contrasts Everythings different calibre rmx, i just love the lush deep sound scape of that record Also 'MED SCHOOL' the sister label of hospital is wicked as well, tends to be alot darker and deeper, and aimed at newer artists.

Some tracks ive been enjoying of late:

Wow, what an egoboost mate. Really made my day, cheers. :) I'm working on a DNB album of this nature by the way. I have alot of inspiration in the DNB genre but nothing really exactly like what I'm trying to do, I enjoy alot of ambient so i try to mix the two together I guess.

I'd say roni size, ltj bukem, dj fresh and some dnbradio.org mixes have alot of cool stuff going on

Yeah man, I really like the track. It has a lot of subtle charm to it, love the vocal samples in the beginning. It combines a lot of the flavours that you don't really tend to see in DnB -- UK shit just seems really stagnated and stuck in the 90s. I've already exhausted all of the usual suspects (concord dawn, roni size, bukem, tech itch, logistics, goldie, etcz) as far as dnb goes, I was just wondering if anyone knew of something that was really different.

Anywho, lotta good recs in this thread.
