my dad builds machines, there generally a few motorised air pumps lying around the back garden, attaching a a two litre bottle half filled with water to an air pump and leaving it for 5 minutes is amazing. we used to put our phone number on the bottles to see where it had got to, one time it travelled two miles. the height you can get on them is phenomonal.

there is however a fine line between taping it up just tight enough to ensure a truely spectacular rocket explosion or taping it up too tight and having a bottle of water violently explode in your backgarden.

i was kind of hoping after he'd made the rocket he would just throw it at somebody in the office; no compressed air, no grand finale, just lols.
