sloth-goonies.jpg

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

Guest Tony Danza

They have a natural smile, don't they? Like dolphins except not villainous.

Sloths are so slow that mold grows on their bodies.

They climb down to the roots of their tree just to make a poop. Slothologists say this is when they're most often attacked. The theory behind why sloths do this is they're fertilizing the tree that they live in.

I wonder how sloths mate.

The moss that grows on sloths bodies also serves as camouflage. Whey they're hanging upside down and curled up they can disguise themselves as wasp's nests to predators.

Sloths are solitary animals, when they want to mate a sloth lets out a mating call. Another sloth hears it and heads toward it. Because they move on average 1/3 of a mile an hour, and because they sleep about two-thirds of the day, it can take days for one sloth to get to the other. They're patient I guess.

Sloths are surprisingly good swimmers too. The theory for why is because they can't go to sleep while in the water, so it's best they get to another tree before they nod off.

Sloths often fall asleep even while eating.
