modey
i saw them last week, just NIN though. i must say their latest 'raw' approach is freakin' great. they started with some new songs, then played stuff mostly from the fragile and earlier. trent announced that it wouldn't be a 'greatest hits' show and would consist more of stuff that was fun to play live. Guest Moebius
I imagine Cleveland will be announced in the next batch, I can't imagine he'd skip it on his last-ever-maybe tour. modey said: i saw them last week, just NIN though. i must say their latest 'raw' approach is freakin' great. they started with some new songs, then played stuff mostly from the fragile and earlier. trent announced that it wouldn't be a 'greatest hits' show and would consist more of stuff that was fun to play live. What did you think of it compared to the 2007 Australian tour, if you saw that? Guest sysex
thats a rather strange tour. aren't Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails on practically opposite sides of the genre spectrum. i suppose it will draw much larger crowds though. In a weird way it makes sense, though personally I never liked JA. Guest Pilcat
I used to love NIN, and saw them live twice, but find it very hard to get into the live performance anymore. I saw some recent tour videos, and I feel rather embarrassed for trent. I can't honestly believe he feels what he's singing about anymore. Even if he never did, he certainly did a better job pretending 5-10 years ago. The Fragile tour and the DVD of it, were my favorite material for a long time, I could feel the power in it. These days, the magic is gone. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/43253-nine-inch-nails-2009/#findComment-969698 Share on other sites
Capsaicin
No matter how cool the big metal screen is in front of Trent, I would imagine that would subtract from the intimacy of the show It looks cool on youtube though, which is prob what he's going for Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/43253-nine-inch-nails-2009/#findComment-971114 Share on other sites

awepittance
if that video is his 'raw approach' why do the drums sound precorded? maybe my ears are tricking me. i've always been kind of disappointed by NIN live because of how many live elements are just layered over perecorded fully layered songs. like if the band just stopped playing during the show you would still hear almost the full NIN song minus the vocals, kind of like going to see a Christina Aguilar or Depeche Mode show. thanks robert moses said: sysex said: thanks robert moses said: sysex said: thats a rather strange tour. aren't Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails on practically opposite sides of the genre spectrum. i suppose it will draw much larger crowds though. Rubin Farr
fuck trent and his goddamn early bird special. we drove 3 hours to Austin to see this lot, got there at 8:30 pm and nin had already finished. what kind of old fartrocker shit is this? a girl there told us he played less than an hour, and it was mostly the new shitty songs, fuck that fat old dirt rocker. anyway Jane's was excellent, good to see the original lineup again. don't think i'll ever pay to see nin again after this debacle.
