yeah, I don't know the storyline actually, we just "make stuff." Though I could infer things from the characters, I suppose. But my lips are sealed.

the girl in the commercial looks like a teen, something i didn't catch the first time i watched it. also on the site, all the kidnappings are taking place in 1967, while the original game is set in 1960.

I didnt realize the original was set so late. I thought it was like the 40s.

Well, Rapture was established in the late 40's early 50's, and by the time your character fatefully stumbles across it, it's 1960 and in decline.

Yeah, that makes sense. The story for the original wasnt as interesting as I thought it would be. It ended up becoming a chase game. I listened to so many of those recordings, but all they did was add to the general mood...nothing terribly enlightening.

Must say...

Bioshock was a bit shit.

i played it on a pc that wasnt quite good enough for the graphics, and ended up not really enjoying it atall. doesnt compare to half life or deus ex really.

Bioshock was quite shit.

No death penalty. You could beat the whole thing with a wrench and a little patience.

Irrelevance in the touted "moral choices" through game design. (doesn't matter what you do to the little sisters gameplay-wise, it only affects which shit ending you get)

Stupid fucking ending(s). Really fucking stupid. ...and by ending I mean everything after Andrew Ryan.

The thing that made it worth playing was the design of the environments. But that's really it.

I never got round to playing Bioshock, I can't really figure out why... Am I missing out on something special?

Only some of the best design, enviroments, and atmosphere ever created in a game. Plus, det story is good if you really pay attention to all the little details. Find every audio diary you can.

yeah but they take all that cool shit and slap a boring fps on top of it, instead of the cool rpg/adventure they could have done

It's kind of an rpg fps, actually.
