First we had the TARP Bill: 700 Billion.

Then we had the Stimulus Package: 775 Billion.

Then we had the "Spending" Package: 410 Billion.

Now they're proposing yet another stimulus bill?

yeah but stuff is created trough work, and work is payed with that thin air. thin air that also buys stuff. it works.

spending is good as long as inflation is kept on check and public debt is manageable. friedmann is dead.

That video is interesting, but Alex Jones is so clearly a nutjob it damages their credibility. They remind me of fans without backstage access imagining what rock stars might be up to. It doesn't surprise me that some of the most powerful people get together to talk about world affairs. If they really wanted to keep it completely secret, I'm sure they could.

of course i agree with everything you are saying there, but if anything at all he does make one good point about appointed diplomats meeting with people they shouldn't be, without congressional (or parliamentary) approval.

i like these stimulus packages, because we get political cartoons like this:

i was thinking yesterday...

these banks lend our money out stupidly. they eventually realise they're not getting it back. so they stop lending to anyone, because they can't afford the risk of fucking up any more.

this means businesses don't have enough money to employ as many people: a lot of businesses are built on continually borrowing from banks - debt - because they assume they'll eventually be able to pay off these loans.

so government lob money at the banks so they'll start lending to companies again. but this money is either loaned to our governments - meaning our taxes will eventually pay them off - or we print more money - meaning our money decreases in value.

so we're essentially paying banks because they lost our money through stupid gambles. and if we don't then a lot of banks fold, which will hurt even more companies, and through them those who they employ: us.

it's so fucked up it's actually quite humorous, from a disinterested - or stoned - point of view.

should have let the free market fix it. it worked so well before.
