Speakers are picking up radio signals

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new set of semi-cheap logitech 2.1 speakers.

They are pretty nice but they pick up radio waves and I have no idea how to stop this from happening

Its not bad for fast/complex music but when I listen to ambient stuff its really annoying. Any idea how to stop this?

Update, I solved this shit.

This is pretty baffling, here is the issue:

I am using a laptop, and it turns out that the radio signals are coming in from the AC adaptor and being played through the speakers after. Whenever I unplug my LAPTOP power chord, the sound goes away instantly. It appears as though it has nothing to do with wire shielding.

I googled a bit and it turns out the power lines pick up radio signals as well, and you can get a filter for your power strip that will remove that as well as protecting against power surges.

Just thought that might be helpful to someone some day
