Strawberry Pie!- Learn how!

Sorry guys, but i didn't make the pie crust from scratch :o. hope you can forgive me!

3/4th cup sugar

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tbls corn starch

1 tsp vanilla exstract

1/2 tsp almond exstract

4 cup strawberries

gather your various tools and mis aen plaus.

be sure to wash your strawberries and shake them dry. don't towel dry or worry about them being completely dry.

i like to half my strawberries and remove the caps and measure the four cups as i go. as apposed to measuring four cups with the tops on. you get more berries in your pie :D

add your sugar, flour, starch, vanilla, and almond extracs in the bowl with your berries.

mix together coating evenly all of the berries and set aside.

take your pie dish and a paper towel and some shortening. use the papper towel to rub a thin even layer of shortening on the inside of your pie dish. then put a little bit of flour in the dish and shake it around till evenly coated. you can dump and extra flour.

press in your pie crust. use a fort to make those silly little markings on the outside, or if you are Snow White, have some neighborhood blue birds do it.

mix your berry mixture one more time as the sugar will start to draw out the moisture from the berries. pour your berries mixture into the pie dish, creating a slight mound in the center. Bake your pie at 350 degrees for 45 mins or untill the pi filling is BUBBLING.

this is the fairly standard pie crust

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup shortening, chilled

3 tablespoons ice water

chill all your instruments ahead of time. whisk salt and flour, cut in shortening for coarse crumbs, add one tbs of water at a time and fluff with fork after each. carefully gather dough together and wrap in plastic. chill a few hours. be gentle rolling out. yields one crust
