Didn't know there was one but yeah the interviews pretty recent and a better one out of the typical ones you'd expect.

to me he sounds pretty depressed. like on the second part where he mentions he just spends all his time in front of the computer like. sounds like he doesn't enjoy it. pretty sad.

yeah, I guess if you've never heard anything like it it would.

I realized two things from this video:

1. Milanese has already used my idea of sampling the creatures from "War of the Worlds".

2. Those people are complete fucking idiots. They passed up the chance to ask Mike P. anything they wanted about his music and only a single guy had anything? Mike P. is a fucking legend and I would rather interview him than aphex because at least with Mike P. you would get straight answers. I also hate how the guy focused on aphex for a while. I am sure Mike P. must get tired of people asking him about aphex because he knew him personally. Fuck if I ever had the chance to interview him I would take as long as I could asking him about synth design and beat making. This next statement is metaphorically throwing myself to the lions, but I like mikes work as a whole much more than Autechre or BOC.

I dont know how he feels, but he looks depressed to me. I wonder if he will ever release more material again. The idiotic audience doesn't help tho.

I think he might be depressed at the time of the interview as that's when his marriage was breaking up - so you really can't blame the guy for being a bit down. From what I've heard, he's a pretty reserved, shy guy, so I imagine that interviews in front of people are not his strong suit.

Also, I posted this ages ago, but nice to see it again.

I seem to recall hearing his ex gf was responsible for Soul Devastation Techniques being leaked early too. One of my favorite albums, so steeped with gritty emotion it practically bleeds out of the speakers.

Seems like the audience at those lectures were just there for extra credit in school or something.
