Did anyone see Kn0w1ng

Ebert slapped on four stars. I understand the man loves Proyas and any movies that allow him to ponder the universe but this is ridiculous. Four stars? Fuck.

Anybody get a chance to see this film and if so, please report your opinion. Thank you

I heard they're going to stop screening it in cinemas because it is too powerful.

Ebert creamed over Watchmen. He's slowly turning into Harry Knowles.

yeah but name me the last movie he did which was remotely decent

ebert has been extremely forgiving of movies since he had thyroid cancer. he doesn't go out into public anymore because he can't actually talk and needs serious reconstructive surgery on his jaw. he probably won't live for much longer...take everything he says now with a grain of salt

yeah but name me the last movie he did which was remotely decent

you could same the same thing about DeNiro, but he ever does a movie with (say) von Trier or Tarantino I'll still be first in line

i want to see it.. simply because it sounds so damn ridiculous. maybe i'll smuggle some alcohol into the cinema and play a drinking game to it or something zole.

remember those long summer nights, when ebert would give a clockwork orange 2 and 1/2 stars and midnight cowboy 3? those were the days...

He just said he wont be getting another surgery. :( Hes over that part. He almost died 3 times apparently. I dont know how that happens...its unfortunate.

Hes definitely been more forgiving. I listened to his commentary on Dark City, and he loves that movie with good reason. Its great stuff. And at the end credits one of the things he says is, I dont know what else Alex plans on doing but Ill be watching very closely. He wants Proyas to succeed, and thats great. I would just like to figure out how much of his praise is just like a general interest in the subject matter more than the actual movie, much like his Watchmen review. He didnt talk about that movie in his review or journal entry at all, just ranted about Dr. Manhattan and quantum mechanics.

honestly his reviews have always seemed a little arbitrary

Zaph hes probably one of my favorite film critics

i like his reviews but he's always gone off on tangents within them. he seems to give out good reviews to really arbitrary movies (speed 2, for instance) and then he'll give blade runner two stars, or whatever.

it is hardcore!

a very well written script.....

witty, frightening, inventive....

a bit derivative but not much film that comes out can be as original as its predecessors.....

not saying something completely new can't be done....

the images are startling yet beautiful and very surreal at times.....

the disaster sequences are some of the most fucked up, realistic, and might not should be shown to innocent beings.....could fuck them up real good

I am going to see it again as soon as I can....
