Covers you would like to see

Recommended Posts

What are some covers you would like to see? Be sure to specify song and artist to be covered and which artist you would like to cover it.

personally, I'd love to hear Zeppelin's 'Moby Dick' covered by Plastikman.

an RDJ cover of Tregaskin's 'Synthacon 9' would probably be pretty nifty too.

It's not technically a cover, but for a few years now I've wanted to hear Celldweller remix Fuel's "Empty Spaces".

please refrain from suggesting remixes in the covers thread.

this is watmm, not your bedroom floor. :wink2:

They actually have more in common than I think you realize.

oh, I realize. that's what made my joke THE FUNNIEST JOKE EVER POSTED ON WATMM. EVER.

Guest Wall Bird

The Flaming Lips covering 'Strawberry Fields Forever'. Their poppy, grand, electronic, orchestral, huge-ass-drums aesthetic would be perfect. Plus Wayne Coyne could certainly do a good delivery of the vocals.

I started by thinking about my favorite songs and I realized that most of them seem almost incapable of being covered. I decided that it's because each of their individual aesthetics are are so unique and essential to the delivery of the song that it would be unthinkable to hear anyone else doing them.

Examples include:

Mr. Bungle - The Air-Conditioned Nightmare

Frank Zappa - Bebop Tango (Of the Old Jazzmen's Church)

Squarepusher - Steinbolt

Aphex Twin - [Equation]

Good luck with an Autechre track

you just inspired me to imagine: Confield performed as a single solo performance by Bobby McFerrin.

i think don caballero or maybe meshuggah could do a great version of iera.

and i'm slowly working on a post-rock cover of nil. zole, "post-rock band covers autechre".

also, i'd love to hear king crimson do a cover of music for 18 musicians.
