Guest spraaaa
with software I like using an arpeggiator with the time set to free, recording some automation of the time with the sequence, and then adjusting it more while it plays back. is there a simple cheap way to do this with hardware, if you've already got something else making the sounds and sending/receiving midi? was thinking maybe there's an arpeggiator that's part of a modular synth, or a sample/delay pedal that can be midi controlled, don't know anything about either though. Guest analogue wings
MAM and Waldorf used to make standalone hardware arpeggiators. Dont know about any currently in production though Your next cheapest option is a second hand "do it all" type box that will output its arps as MIDI. I know the Proteus 2000 series will do this (though if you buy an actual Proteus 2000 like I did you will need to flash the OS to get the arp feature). I know things like the MoPho and (probably) Evolver have arps, but not if they will output them as MIDI likewise, any number of naff mid 90s grooveboxes might well do it, but you'll have to check the individual specs... Guest spraaaa
haha, waldorf know what's up with their color schemes. i figured out a way to get this kind of jacked-up timing with my mpc alone... basically just recorded something with note repeat while adjusting time shift with one of the sliders, then changed the sample end point with the other q-link while it was playing back... sweet. Guest spraaaa
they're cool... a lot of the stuff only has an effect on new notes so it's fun using them with note repeat.
