Looking for VSTs with "analog" tuning function

Recommended Posts

So the korg legacy synths, the polysix in particular, has this feature where you turn up the 'analog' knob, the synth goes out of tune in a pissy attempt at analog circuitry.

The thing is, it only affects individual notes, it's like every single note has it's own tuning LFO. So the tuning changes a little bit on every new note you strike, but all previous notes stay the same.

I love this effect, it's especially cool if you have it three-quarters on with a long release on the amp envelope. You get a good variation of in and out of tune tones with large chords.

Does any other VST out there have this effect?

I know there's variations of OSC modulation with LFO, but it doesn't get the effect I want, since it always affects the tuning of all notes. So you get a wobbly sound.

One of the Reaktor synths also has a pretty cool effect where only the higher notes were detuned.

The PSP Delay VST thingie does this weird pitch thing every now and then and you don't really have any control of it as soon as it gets going. Love it.

ya I also love that. I usally just write the tracks and then ride a fine detune knob or something.

Might want to fuxx with bidule a bit. I'm sure you could write a patch that you could use on any synth...

Check it out.

Surge has an "analog drift" slider. I'm not entirely sure how it works though or what it is doing to the sound. Whether it is "note by note" or "voice by voice", or just global. It's subtle.
