Tessier Ashpool
Yeah, so finally grabbed this little gem - sounds absolutely great, with the sort of punch you always wanted the album to have but it never quite did. Bass comes through nice and thick and everything just sounds like, well, the production fidelity most everything including/post Check Your Head. Had a lotta love for this back in the day, really nice to hear a well done remastering job . . . unlike the "re-release" Radiohead albums which aren't even remastered. wtf? Check it out, hot shit, hot shit Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Tessier Ashpool's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/44326-pauls-boutique/ Share on other sites
Tessier Ashpool
I just went for the CD, personally. Although I love vinyl, not necessarily worth it for that. . . keltoi
good album but the original, flawed or not, will do me just fine. Guest Iain C
I've been meaning to hear this! I suppose that's a recommendation then. I'll grab it at some point. Tessier Ashpool
Yeah - I mean, I love the album but it just felt like something wasn't quite "all there." Like listening to an album in 128 kbps. Now there's that full depth and definition - totally worth it if you are at all a fan (incidentally, also a sign of how absolutely ahead of their time the Beastie's were) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Tessier Ashpool's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/44326-pauls-boutique/#findComment-1001442 Share on other sites

Guest maantecaaa!!!
This is a good book about the story behind the production of Paul's Boutique. The surprise is: the Dust Brothers were getting their beats from a reclusive genius type in L.A. The last half of the book chronicles where all the samples come from. Great read, made me love the album even more. So ahead of their time. BobDobalina
Just downloaded this from soulseek and listening to it (already bought the album twice, not about to buy it again) - pretty impressive the samples/lyrics that you can actually hear now - like the call outs to all the girls on the first track and the pingpong at the beginning of 3-minute rule Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide BobDobalina's signature Hide all signatures CA$HNE$$ Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/44326-pauls-boutique/#findComment-1008364 Share on other sites
