Guest chax
http://createdigitalmusic.com/2009/04/01/u...s-up/#more-5507 http://www.novationmusic.com/products/sl_mkii?option=1 this thing just came out and i couldn't be more surprised. still trying to determine whether it's worth the money seeing how it's missing an lcd screen (although with the automap 3.0 software it doesn't matter). but this is a great feature Quote Novation’s unique ‘speed dial’ A touch-sensitive rotary encoder that instantly takes control of whatever your mouse is focused on, providing real time access for composers and performers alike. in order to afford this i don't think i can eat properly for like at least two months Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/44424-novation-remote-sl-mk-ii/ Share on other sites
Guest idrn
don't get ahead of yourself, are you really going to fully 100% take avantage of all the features? i just bought an sl 37 (compromise between home/live - 2 octaves isn't enough) off gumtree for pennies (actually felt quite sorry for the fella as he obviously really loved the thing but had to sell it as his missus was preggers). i've had it for nearly a week and i'm still just setting up patches/automap how i want - once i get even just one page of parameters set up i'll end up spending the next 30 mins jazzing. the new features in this MKII seem nice but by no means worth the money it'll cost brand new. maybe im missing something but in effect they've just shaven off a few extra button presses/ clicks here and there? the main thing going for it is being packaged with automap pro, but in the first place this was just the most backward concept conceived. if im spending silly money on a high-end midi controller designed to be intuitive and significantly speed up workflow it just comes across as fucking weak to try and scab an extra few quid for features you would take for granted if available. the fact that you have this stonking big button in your software saying BUY AUTOMAP PRO at all times... and then you get popups if you attempt to perform any functionality reserved for PRO, is unadulterated gash. why must i enter in two sets of data independently? why must i pay £20 to fucking drag and drop? kakapo
I have a 'solution' if you don't want to pay for automap pro. The speed dial is not that great in use, I find myself ignoring it on my nocturn. Guest hahathhat
so do the drum trigger pads suck on this one too??? i'm happy with me current one, though those donut indicators on the rotary encoders look tight+useful Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/44424-novation-remote-sl-mk-ii/#findComment-1005652 Share on other sites
