Blamstrain's Ensi, Disfold, Remixed on Youtube

Sorry to spam, but I dunno how else I could get the word out:

Blamstrain - Ensi (MERCK013, 2003)

Blamstrain - Disfold (SO004, 2006)

Blamstrain - Blamstrain Remixed (MERCK035, 2005)

Also, there's a new single + digital re-release of an album from last year ("Galaxy Spots" and "Exosphere" respectively) coming out this April 25th on my new label Erotus.

Some of my stablemates from Merck have joined in on the label as well along with some other guys from Finland and abroad, so keep your eyes peeled on the Erotus myspace page as there'll be a release every month. Available from itunes, emusic, juno, beatsdigital, digital-tunes etc..

whoa! blamstrain posting on watmm!

i've loved ensi for so long now. i turned a lot of my friends on to the better side of electronic music over the years, and you've always been one of their favorites.. they used to like screamo and hardcore but now they like raster noton.

A lil bump, I created a digital store where you can buy all the back catalogue in pretty much any file format for a pretty decent price (I think), ranging from 2.90eur to 6.90eur an album and 29c to 99c a track. All the money goes straight to my pocket after PayPal fees.

If you're an artist, check that bandcamp stuff out. It's pretty sweet.

Query: what is the best method of digital distribution for artists?

I imagine iTunes gets you the most exposure, but do they give artists the best deals?

iTunes actually gives you jack shit in terms of exposure. I still have to be sitting here doing promotion myself with little to no returns. They pay way late in comparison to other stores, don't provide statistics etc.

The best method might be something like bandcamp or bigcartel along with a few carefully selected shops (digital-tunes has an awesome admin interface and realtime stats), but I'm trying all sorts of different things to find out for myself. The Lowblow free download + donate model didn't work out too well.. I got a total of 20eur in donations over almost two years on top of the CD offer purchases.

I'm planning to make all this sales data public info with Erotus. Do you guys think that'd be a good idea? I figure people have no clue at all how much artists sell, and it really ain't much. It'd be nice to put the sales figure next to a download figure from a torrent tracker for comparison..

That's a sweet idea, probably be a real wake up call for some, and for others it would be useful info...
