i use that snare alllll over the place these days

definitely one of the gems in the quitter drum collection

cool it just sounds like a clap or a snare being granularly processed , but it works.

i guess i just don't understand spending all this effort on a remix of a top 10 billboard song, because frankly it sounds very technically proficient, lots of details edits and what not

it's a few claps and my knuckles popping re pitched and panned and whatnot

I'm trying to use less and less grain effects these days

this song is totally empty without t-pain/chris brown too...it's crafted around it and i don't really think anything other than maybe another vocalist could fill the void that would be left in their absence

in all truth i really like that song...something about rapping "let's hit McDonalds" resonates with me

my personal reasons for remixing top 40 are pretty simple: it's an easy way to let people know it's o.k. to dance to this

i dropped the breakcore/acid-nightmare thing because i had a mental breakdown over the fact that the only thing my music could do is further the alienation of already strange people...

basically i feel that this is a more honest representation of myself musically AND it has potential to unite people on the dancefloor that generally wouldn't be caught dead standing next to each other

edit:

Beneboi ->feel free, in fact shoot me your email in a p.m.

i put packs of remixes up for download every few months for dj's and bloggers

would love to throw you in the loop

if remixing is your thing man by all means go for it, i've heard your stuff where you don't remix other peoples tracks and i think its awesome. And there are ways to craft a song just as catchy as T-pain by yourself, if you mean that by using a top 40 song is the only way to unite people that intensely on the dancefloor i guess i can get that, but you are a talented dude and i think you are capable of doing something to top the original song in all regards.

If i liked the original song I'd probably feel differently, it's just that auto-tune makes cringe

edit: sounded massive on the dancefloor last night

listened but didn't really like sorry....good production and all that but not a fan of the original song but felt this remix didn't have enough groove - felt a bit regimented and too fiddly.

damned if i do, damned if i don't....

but seriously, i believe regimented and the act of fiddling are mutually exclusive...

please remove one to make the comment more constructive than confusing

to avoid further confusion:

it's t-pain everyone

if you don't like t-pain don't put yourself through this for your own good

the direction I'm headed i really don't expect to get alot of hi-fives on this board

this is almost audio flamebaiting

i know this song isn't terrible

just not for everyone...

what i meant was this:

in my opinion a good hip-hop/r & b track should have a definite flow and groove...a rolling dynamic which is easy to nod your head to or dance to. i felt your track was lacking this and was a bit stuttery with little swing tying the whole thing together. one of the main reasons for this lack of swing imo was the little twiddles, bloops and heavy use of effects etc which to me took away from the track as a whole - hence the too fiddly part.

hope that eases your confusion.
