sadly aborted hiss malfunction

made this tune for a project i'm working on and thought it was sounding weird whilst mixing, but i was stoned and put it down to using cheap headphones...anyway was making it late at night so couldn't bang it out on my monitors and check things properly. upshot of it all is there's a fuckload of hiss all over it and i can't be arsed to do it all again so am posting it here for a laugh. anyway, see what you think - first person to say "sounds a bit hissy" wins a prize.

the comments you get on YLC have gone down hill man. why is everyone so shy? 30 odd downloads and no proper comments? well, i for one am insulted.

*hisses at everyone*

ok butthurt boy, now you know how EYE feel.

Hows aboot dis:

I like the way this song builds. The his isn't bothersome AT ALL in my opinion. It just makes it sound older, and not really in a bad way. The melodies are nice... relaxing even. If I was to have written this though, I probably would have added a second section to the end, changing it up a bit. I didn't want it to end.

you happy now? It's on my HD if that means anything... future mix perhaps?

Scones to Die For's attempt at a proper YLC comment:

I like it. Nice minor key melody; everything works well together. I like how it evolves from the 4 on the floor beginning to more of a breakbeat later. It maybe could use some synth fx here and there or something to make the transitions a bit more dynamic, but it's not necessary at all. A very solid, well thought out track.

The song conjures up images of a train ride through the European countryside at dusk. It would be a nice track in a mix. I listened to it twice and will listen to it again, maybe at the gym.

hooray! thank you kind peoples of YLC. i might actually try this one again as have all the original patterns and sequences stored (er, I think) on my sequencer so can probably set it all up again without too much trouble. will try and include some of the suggestions made if I do...

nice little track! sounds a bit hissy though lol

no i think it just lacks a big synth or something, i don't know
