so yesterday my jaw started hurting. today i can only open my mouth a certain way open. not quite big enough to eat cereals. the pain is either in my jaw or my gums i can't tell which. at first i thought it was an ulcer on the gum but now it feels different than that. it seems to upper jaw. once the food is in chewing is no problem. poking around back there the gum definitely hurts. could it be wisdom teeth? but why would that hurt on opening?

i have healthcare actually but i'm waiting to see if gets worse tomorrow or if its just a cunnilingus injury.

where is dr house when you need him?

If you aren't sure if your wisdom teeth are causing pain, I'm guessing you haven't seen a dentist in a while.  If I was to assume that much, you could have a cavity that has tunneled into your jawbone and facial muscle.

sounds like a locked jaw, that's all I can tell

anything that hurts for a single day is fit to be ignored

unless of course what is hurting is your arm or leg as the result of a compound fracture

you are correct. haven't seen a dentist in over 3 years. i'm now thinking its definitely a tooth problem. i had a good look in the mirror and the very back tooth is the one hurting. its real high up there. higher than the other side matching tooth.

i don't have dental insurance. gah

If it is a tunneling cavity, make sure you rinse the H2O2 out REALLY well.

drove 3 hours back home last nite so i could wake up this morning at 8am and go get a cavity filled; i got in a minor car accident two blocks away from the dentists office. life with insurance isn't necessarily a cakewalk.

if it gets worse i'm flying back to england to get my dentist on it.

ticket will cost me $700 and work back home maybe 200-400quid (depending). here i got no idea but imagine its higher

It sounds like it could be wisdom teeth. doesnt even have to be anything going wrong, sometimes they just make your whole mouth hurt for a few days. See a dentist though

is it a good or bad sign (for future pains) that the hydrogen peroxide made the pain go away alot.

obv its good now but does it indicates its a cavity rather than just a tooth trying to grow through

this exact thing happened to me a couple of years ago. the pain feels like its somewhere around your jaw or maybe your gums, but you cant tell exactly where. it hurts to chew, and sometimes to talk or laugh. basically a wtf...

went to the dentist, a cavity had made its way up into the nerve of the tooth, hence the pain. they yanked the tooth out, pull out all the tissue from the hole, and voila

i wouldn't jump to any conclusions. you're probably just grinding your teeth in your sleep. that can cause lockjaw. if it keeps up, yeah, see a dentist, but you could always just pop a few advil before you go to sleep and see if you still have the pain in the morning. had the same issue and that's what my dentist had me do, cleared it up.

just go see a dentist ffs.
