Ishq - Lotus Singles

Anyone else heard Ishq's album Lotus Singles? I thought it deserved a plug here....

I got this from a friend last year and have listened to it loads since .... its really chilled, melodic ambient electronica ... long tracks that make brilliant atmosphere but don't get boring. Its some chap in Cornwall called Matt Hillier.

I remember when I first heard of The Orb, but before I heard their music, I imagined that they would sound something like this. But they weren't as melodic as this.

but then Lotuses have always been considered to be quite a special flower

and this album is from 2006

ISHQ is great....if you like this, check out one of their older albums, Orchid.....the second track Yu is an ambient masterpiece, IMO

weirdly, if you google 'Ishq lotus singles' this thread is now the top result. I guess there's not many people talking about ishq, shame.

Why are these guys not HUGE?

Fyi Ishq means Love in Hindi. And they are pretty big in the 'psybient' scene.

Yeah anybody who likes this should definitely check out Matt Hillier's other works on his label, Virtual.

In particular I would highly highly highly recommend Elve - Infinite Garden. It's some of the deepest and most meditative music I've ever heard.
