WATMM 'Monthly' Remix Competition -> Round 5 -> Pigeon Street

Round 4 took ages because I was traveling, and we've had a little pause for project 168, but now the not-really-monthly remix competition is back for Round 5....

Beneboi won Round 4 a couple of weeks ago, and so he chose the source track for this round, which is Pigeon Street by Caustic Window, which shouldn't really need much introduction. Basically its by a young Richard D James, its 23 seconds long, and it sounds like this:

Its track 5 on the Caustic Window Compilation CD from Rephlex, should be pretty easy to get hold of.

There's an ongoing discussion about rules changes, so I'm going to try something slightly different for this round:

Here's the adjusted Simple Rules:

Simple Rules v1.5:

- its a remix competition

- we're taking remix in the very broadest sense of the word

- voting will be anonymous

- we can do it with threads and polls and PMs, for now. Maybe we'll build a site later.

- while round 5 is running, everyone can nominate, and then vote for, source tracks for round 6

- (a maximum of 3 source track nominations per person)

- the winner of round 5 chooses the source track for round 6 from the top 3 voted-for source tracks

- anyone can enter, but it makes it easier for me if they have a watmm username

Round 5 starts now. If you want to submit a track, please PM it to me (or email to mail@koanotic.org) by 23:00 GMT on Saturday 23rd May.

After that we will have 1 week of voting, and then we'll be moving on to round 6.

Also, if anyone wants to create cover art for this round, please post it here or pm it, cheers

Nominations for round 6 source tracks

If you want to suggest/nominate a source track for Round 6, please post the track title and artist name in this thread sometime in the next 2 weeks. Then I will collate them and make a poll that will run for the subsequent 2 weeks. Everyone will then be able to vote for the nominated tracks (probably a multiple vote, ie you can vote for more than 1)

Then the winner of Round 5 picks a track from the top 3 of that source-track poll.

(edit: changed from top 5 to top 3 because we only have 7 nominations)

As there isn't going to be any voting, it doesn't need to be anonymous - its by beneboi, who also managed to get himself banned a couple of weeks ago.

So beneboi wins (again) by virtue of being the only person to enter.

He now gets to choose a track from the Top 3 in this poll, and then we start round 6 with it

might as well keep going for now, but if round 6 doesn't get any entries then its time to give this thing a rest i guess

edit: I did ask Beneboi to choose a track, but havent heard from him for several weeks. I've gone ahead and chosen one myself instead ... see Round 6 thread.
