srsly though, the roygbiv loop does make a nice. harmonic palindrome.

the melody is simple enough that some meaningful chords get made when played both ways at once.

It does sound cool.  It makes the bassline a little more unsettling (my stomach does this weird drop when I'm listening), but the overall effect sounds really, really cool.

I think it's my expecting the bassline to do one thing, then it does the opposite; like standing in an elevator and you think will be going up, so you brace yourself, and it goes down.  Sort of.
