i watched this again last night for the first time in over 20 years and still.... man what a great film!

the recent(ish) remake was the gayest film i've ever seen in my life and an abomination to the originals classic greatness.

1984 and brave new world paranoia, brainwashing, government control crossed with underdog wins against the odds sport movie.

and james caan... what a guy, what a hero!

great cheesy 70's funk/synth sound track too.

i think this was one of my most watched videos as a kid. Would love to see it again, I just have this cluster of disjointed scenes in my memory...
