not that i have any idea how these things work, but there seems to be a that it happening in the song that he doesnt seem to be controlling. excluding the drums obviously

how come he missed the drums part ?? i mean its not that difficult to replicate

He's just got a drum part playing on top of a simple synth loop. Playing around with oscillator sync, distortion, and what sounds like a vowel filter.
