What do photos reveal?

Surprisingly, a possible clue about whether you stay married or get divorced may be contained in your photo album.

Researchers analyzed photos taken in childhood or young adulthood from hundreds of people and rated their expressions on a "smile intensity score."

The less intensely the subjects smiled, the more likely they would be divorced later in life, while the biggest smilers had lower divorce rates, according to a study published online this month by the journal Motivation and Emotion.

Scientists don't know what accounts for the link, but say a smile may indicate higher levels of positive emotions and signal other traits, said co-author Matt Hertenstein, associate professor of psychology at DePauw University and head of the school's Touch and Emotion Lab.

"People who smile a lot may attract happier people and maybe happier marriage partners," Hertenstein said. "It may be that people who smile in response to a photographer are more obedient people and obedience may help in a marriage. I really don't know the explanation."

this is crazy. by crazy i mean amazing. i believe, that when we smile, it is our heart finding what it is always looking for. so the more we smile or laugh especially, the more we are getting what we really want, what our heart wants, and to the core all we are is heart, so when the heart is happy, so are we. we are nothing more than heart, so when we are glad and happy....we are incredibly fucking happy, and that is why it feels so good to be happy, and when you are in that positive mind frame, you probably notice how every starts to make sense in your life and in the world again. when you are happy, everything else falls into place in the mind and we are happy, because we are happy. when you find yourself in unhappiness, your mind suddenly devotes all of its effort into reverting back into that state of happiness. that is why unhappy people always seem like they are searching for something, and happy people are incredibly fine with where they are at. this is because we are somehow in an almost impossibly confusing way, we are somehow so connected to these brains...these "minds" as we call it. all the mind is is an expression of our heart. our heart doesnt have a voice, so it uses the mind, and then finally the mouth and the rest of the body, to act out its will.

why do we even have a will you then ask? it is because our hearts arent just another component of our being. we are our hearts. we are so incredibly pure its not even funny, so when we stub our toe...that really really sucks, because we are so gentle inside, that even the slightest bit of pain makes us suffer. we are all babies in that manner. do when we stub our toe, it totally blows. when we think we are dying, its like stubbing your toe, but an infinite amount X worse. its like stubbing the toe of your own existence...and we wonder...well if im going to die what was i doing here in the first place. this is when you realize that we are not the self society forced us into believing we were. we are simply consciousness, nothing else. all self identification is irrelevant, because it is not who we really are. we are simply being...that is the true you, nothing else. anything you might try to add to that being is false, because there is no you, in the capacity that you can obtain things

So I take it me never smiling in any childhood-photo is not a good thing.

munas, its so incredibly easy. all you have to do is find the heart inside of yourself. once you finally see it, you will see it in all others. you will go "holy shit, i woke up"! it wont be so much that youve transformed into something new, but rather you find yourself into realizing you are what you have always been, but forgot. for most people, it happens early in childhood...they lose touch with what they were when they were kids, which was totally right, but society is a constant force of bad attacking us, and if we dont see the truth behind it, we will become that badness. i encourage you so deeply from the bottom of my heart, in such a way i cant even describe, to search for the soul in the deepest part of your heart that you know, and go from there. without this you, and all of us are all lost

next understand your own potential. if we are all the same, then this magical person in your mind who seems to have more control than you, must only possess an understanding not of what you are incapable of learning, but just havent learned yet. once you see this you get to the next step

we can all do anything we want...but your mind will revolt violently, because in seeing what you truly want, which comes from our true selves, this "self" which weve not only created but dependent upon, must die

I dont know if this could be verified, but I am a pretty happy guy in general and I smiled a lot in photos. But smiling has only only brought me grief with women.
