I'm not even sure if I should post this here. Obviously there isn't much I can do with this now as its already been and gone. I am really just curious as to what people think of it and if you could suggest some effects to use live.

I made a playlist in FlStudio and assigned a few effects to my midi controller, but they just sound a bit shit. I used a FruityFilter and some delay and bufferoverride. I pressed record just before i started my set so captured the (bad) knob twiddling.

So can anyone suggest anything for playing live other than the obvious(get ableton or something)? This was only my 3rd gig and I had hardly any time to prepare for it but I will hopefully have some more on the way.

Any help and suggestions would be VERY much appreciated as I'm such a n00b! Cheers.

Sorry to bump this but I still would like some advice on Vst's, Filters and other effects for playing live.

Got 2 Reviews from the day too, both quite different, it seems one loves this sort of music and the other isn't.

"Once again it's an opportunity to take in some off-kilter rock in gritty pub venues, courtesy of Sounds From The Other City

First port of call is upstairs in The Black Lion to have a look at DIGITONAL. There's some mildly energising sparse techno coming from that laptop set-up but even more than with most electronic acts you have to question the performer input here. He doesn't seem especially interested - even a little grumpy when he appears to hit the wrong key (open the wrong window?) and the visual backdrop of ironic 80s favourite Tron doesn't show much imagination. Perhaps better suited to a later slot."

No2 - 03 May 2009 / Various Venues / Salford

"The line-up here comes courtesy of Terrorist, and the opening soundtrack from a man poring unassumingly over a laptop to unleash a stream of synthetic brilliance. There are flashes of traditional, Kraut-inspired electro reminiscent of very early 808 State and the stuff Alpinestars used to half-inch off Kraftwerk; there are Maps-like techno dreams, there are retro acid squelches mutating into sweeping little symphonies and widescreen scattered beats like 65daysofstatic let loose on a Morricone trip. Apparently there are still people who don't trust music made from silicon chips, but then they're probably also the sort of people unlikely to go to a club called Terrorist. Good.

(Editor's note: We've since learnt that Digitonal had to pull out of SFTOC, so who we were watching at 3.30pm we have no idea. If anyone can enlighten us, please do - CA.)"
