What do y'all think?

Thats pretty darn funky, but I think the hi-hats are a bit too loud and grating. I'm a noob though :)

well you may be right, noob or not. They sound perfectly fine on MY system at home, and on my mp3 player, but I haven't heard the track anywhere else, so this may damn well be true. Anyone else have this same problem?

Well yeah, the hats are a little too loud in the mix and it works a little distracting. Maybe you could just roll off the high end and then it should be fine. Also the synths sound a little too thin. So the track is pretty good only you need to find a good balance in the overall mix. Maybe some compression will do the trick to make it more dynamic.

I have to agree with the comments regarding the hi-hats. They're a bit too loud in the mix, but a little eqing should fix that issue. The track itself is a bit bland, but it did remind me of dmx krew. I was sort of expecting to hear some vocals and singing, but that didn't happen. I suggest that you make a vocal version of this track.

Man. i totally wish I could. The only thing I have resembling a microphone is the built in mic that I have on my mp3 player. This is fine when I'm doing short vocal snips that I'm going to DSP the fuck out of anyway (like in "Blotto" http://forum.watmm.com/index.php?showtopic=43487 ), but it would take some serious production mastery (that I doubt I have) to pull off a serious vocal track with it.

After I get caught up on my rent (i made a rent agreement with the landlord the other day) in about 2 months, I can start THINKING about getting a new audio interface & mic (pawned my old ones in the height of my drug addiction a little over a year and a half ago...), but until then, I'm stuck, unless I break down and get a super cheap 1/8 in jack mic that I can plug directly into my computer (which I have actually managed to get good results from before...)...

i'm not too fond of the dj effects but the track gets really interesting in the second part. i like how you mixed the hi hats but maybe the whole thing lacks medium frequencies in the EQ, or bass, i dont know. also, it's a bit too compressed for my ears, the mixing is a bit weird. but the melody is really cool and the beat is dancy for sure!

i really like it. snare could maybe be a bit louder and more punchy....hats might be a little loud yeah, but fuck it.

yeah this was funky as hell man. loved it. i think the hi hats are a tad too high but not much. I really like the different instruments all panned out, very nice. lots of tiny little effects and alterations, which suggests to me you did take your time with it.

Nice track, it gets pretty great after the intro, the intro is fine, but to me the balance of the song seems a little off until everything gets going. Definitely agree that the hi-hats are too loud, but yeah other than that it sounds great.

starts like an "idm" tune and surprises with the well know bassline. lot of reverb used here which is not typical for the style . guess less reverb would be better for the melodies. they are all very nice but for example the hook line is too distant in my opinion ( check minutes 2:45 to 3:00 ) . i would bring it closer to the listener!.

nice approach but way to much reverb!
