its about time they stepped up the console multiplayer size!

From the sound of things, you can join ongoing battles and check the status of battles online.

looks fucking awesome. Takes me back to my planetside days and for the first time ever makes me wish i had a ps3.

i remember planetside!

although i joined it when it had died down and become free.

my buddy who showed it to me was apparently one of the big daddies of the game when he was in his prime.

shame i missed it when it was really epic, i'm sure it was amazing!

Judging from the videos I've seen... it doesn't really look that great.

Also, 256 players? Black Hawk Down on the PS2 did 32 players five years ago. Black Hawk Down on the 360 did 64 players four years ago. Joint Operations did 256 players five yours ago on the PC. I'm not saying that any of these games were particularly good, but I'm just amazed that we're still oo'ing and aa'ing over 32 players games.

well, planetside did 1000's of players.

there aren't many above 64 players on consoles though......are there?

Almost every online game in the last couple years has been 8-16 with a max of 32. I thought the videos looked pretty good.

i can't imagine this working smoothly
